В работе обсуждаются проблемы гармоничного сочетания формы (внешнего вида) и содержания (моральных качеств) врача, без которых невозможно качественное выполнение профессиональных обязанностей и общение с пациентами.

  It is known that each medical sphere employee should be able to communicate with patients; ethics plays an important role in treatment and recovery of patients. According to opinions of well-known people, the role of words while communicating with patients is enormous. (N.N. Burdenko, V.M. Bekhterev, etc). Medical ethics and medical deontology is a set of ethical principles and a way of behavior of health workers while performing their professional duties.

The aspects of contemporary medical ethics can be stated as follows:

• Scientific - section of medical science studying the ethical and moral aspects of health workers;

• Practical - the area of medical practice, which objectives are the formation and application of ethical standards and rules.

Every employee of the medical sphere should possess qualities such as sympathy, kindness, sensitivity and responsiveness, attentiveness to the patients. The word has a great importance; this means not only the culture of speech, but also a sense of tact, the ability to raise a patient’s mood, not to hurt him with the careless statement.

The welfare of the patients should motivate the physician’s behavior. Care, assistance and support are the main features of medical ethics. Philanthropy is not only a fundamental criterion of the choice of a profession, but it directly affects the success in it. Universal norms of communication such as the ability to respect and listen carefully to the interlocutor, to show interest in the content of the conversation and patient’s opinion, to talk with a patient in words of one syllable have the particular importance in the medical profession. Physicians should be careful talking to patients, especially to those suffering from cancer, to whom it is not accepted to report the true diagnosis. The result of the improper behavior of a physician can be an iatrogenic disease of a patient. The iatrogenic disease (iatrogenic) is a pathological condition caused by the physician’s careless words or actions that make an idea of having some illnesses or the special gravity of a definite illness.

According to deontological issues of nursing, we can attribute the necessity of medical confidentiality. The tidy appearance of medical personnel is of great importance, too.

To sum up, medical profession implies certain moral and ethical qualities, which are essential to perform professional duties perfectly and be really a professional.
